If you have a MacPlus or earlier machine, that does not have a "Control" key on the keyboard, there are two options to get "Control" key capability. In Terminal Preferences, you can select "Control Key" in the Command Key options pop-up menu. With this selected, you can use the Command (clover-leaf) key as a control modifier key. But you will no longer be able to use the menu command key equivalents.
The other way to get Control key capability is to select the "Option for Control" check box in Terminal Preferences. This check box is only shown if you have an old keyboard without a Control key. This option will cause ZTerm to use a modified keyboard resource (KCHR) that makes the Option key do what the Control key normally does. For systems before System 7, the modified keyboard resource is in the ZTerm application.
If you are using System 7 or later, the keyboard resource must be in the System file. Drag the file “ZTerm Keyboard” onto your System file. This will copy ZTerm's customized keyboard mapping to the System so that ZTerm can use it. Because this is a modified version of the US mapping, it may not be correct for international users.
